Tom has a BFA in Theatre Production from York University and has worked in the theatre and live-event industry since he graduated in 2006. Although Tom’s early career focused on working as a lighting and sound technician, his childhood love of carpentry quickly steered him towards the scenic construction trade. Along with a laundry list of freelance work for various theatre companies in the GTA, he has worked as the Head Carpenter at the Blyth Festival, the Lead Carpenter/ATD at Tarragon Theatre, and spent the last five years working at McWood Studios Inc. as a carpenter and project lead. Tom has also worked as an instructor in the Theatre Production program at Humber College since 2013 and recently took on a full-time position there as a professor teaching Carpentry and Drafting, as well as mentoring students working on Humber Theatre productions.
